In observance of Thanksgiving in the United States, we will be closed Thursday (11/24) and Friday (11/25) of this week, and back in the office the following Monday (11/28).
We will be on call for emergency support in case you have a service outage.
In the occurrence of any outage, you can subscribe to the updates at http://status.userplane.com.
Flash likes to take over and be the top most element visible on the page. For our Presence Bar in particular, this is an issue, as it sticks to the bottom of the page.
If you have a flash element on your site, whether a video, our Webchat embedded, or any other flash element, it may overlay on top of one of the IMs or Chatrooms in the Presence Bar.
To fix this, you need to set the “wmode” for Flash.
Inside the embed code, add this parameter:
<param name=”wmode” value=”opaque”/>
This will fix the issue and allow for an IM or Chat window to overlay on top of the Flash element on the page.
If you have any issues with it, feel free to contact our support team.
Apple has been sending small blows to Adobe lately, initially with the “no flash on iOS” position.
Apple’s most recent operating system release, OS X Lion, which dropped just a few days ago, contains yet another blow to Adobe [and Flash.]
Lion does not allow users to use the dialog to allow the video camera to be used from a specific website directly from the dialog anymore. You actually have to go into System Preferences » Flash Player » Camera and Microphone Settings by Site… » then add the domain you want to allow. To use Userplane, you would need to add userplane.com. You also must choose “allow” for Camera and Mic Access.
This is a huge blow to Adobe as they are trying to make it even more difficult to use. Note, it’s still entirely possible to use it, it’s just a pain and a huge hassle to do it.
Userplane’s Position
We are working on removing flash entirely from our platform, however, we strongly feel that there are certain things such as video streaming, which have not fully matured outside of Flash. As soon as support for video streaming is built outside of Flash, such as HTML5, we will be switching away from flash — but we won’t do that until we feel we can adequately support our customer base.
How to Fix it

Dialog box you would expect to be able to click "Allow"
Here’s how to fix it.
1. Find your System Preferences
![]()
2. Go to Flash Player

3. Go to Camera and Mic Settings by Site

4. Add userplane.com and choose Allow

5. Review the result of adding userplane.com

6. Refresh or re-open the page
You will need to refresh or re-open the page you previously had open for it to begin working as Apple has not allowed users to click outside of the dialog until the page is reloaded in some way.

At approximately 11:45 P.M. PST the facilities that house our data center lost power for a prolonged period. Subsequent failures in battery backup and generators brought our entire network down. We are in the process of restoring service at this time and will post again as soon as we have more information on an approximate ETA for the service to be restored.
