Today we released version 1.2.3 of the Userplane SDK, and this release adds some functionality to Presencebar that really excites us. First of all, we’ve really improved the usefulness of Buddylist groups. Groups now update in real-time, without a page refresh. So if the local user wants to friend a user from their Recent Conversations list, they can now do so, with Buddylist updating in real-time. Using our API, Userplane can also update your database with the new buddy list addition.

Speaking of groups, we also have new Presencebar functionality that focuses explicitly on small-group communication–both in a 1:1 sense as well as a group chat sense. For example: let’s say you’re part of an organization with multiple teams. Using Presencebar, you can support IM amongst individuals in the organization. But that’s nothing new. What IS new is that you can group these individuals by team, with each team having their own chat room.

These are just a few of the new features and functionality that our 1.2.3 release bring to the Userplane SDK. For complete release notes, please click here.
