A great feature set of our new SDK–which currently allows publishers to add Webmessenger, Presencebar and Webchat Lite to their Userplane integration–is its wealth of reporting capabilities.

One great piece of information we can glean from our shiny new reports is the browser breakdown by the users of social networks, dating sites, gaming sites and more.  With this information, we are now empowered to drive product decisions based on real data to make the right decision for our publishers and Userplane.

Consider: use of IE7 amongst our publishers’ user base is declining toward 5% and continues to trend downward.  This data gives us the information we need to put in place an end-of-life plan for IE7 which will allow us to move full speed ahead to our Flash-free version of Userplane.  Developing for more modern browsers means faster load time and better performance of Userplane apps.  And, of course, it means we get to start working toward tablet browser compatibility.

We anticipate dropping IE7 support for the Userplane SDK in late October of this year.  If you’d like to understand more about what this means for publishers and for the Userplane SDK, please contact us.
