LOS ANGELES, CA (September 7, 2005)—In a move that significantly expands the market reach of its freely
distributed Userplane Webchat application, Userplane—the leading provider of live community software—today
announced the release of plug-in modules for software platforms Simple Machines, VBulletin, Mambo and PHP-Nuke.
With the release of the modules, website developers and administrators using these platforms can easily and quickly
add Userplane to their websites.
The availability of Userplane plug-ins dramatically increases the ability of webmasters to integrate fully functional
Userplane A/V chat and instant messaging into the increasingly large number of web communities that use pre-built
software solutions.
“We are pleased to embrace standard community software platforms, and open our API to allow quick development
and plug-in expansion to systems like these,” said Michael Jones, co-founder and CEO, Userplane. “We
have been listening closely to our users, who have asked for a fast and easy installation and distribution methodology
for such software systems.”
“At the same time, we are continuing to work on even broader availability of our plug-ins for the development
community,” Jones said. “We are currently finishing our Drupal installation, as well as opening up
various aspects of our account and user management system to integration into other standard software systems.”
The Userplane plug-in installation includes pre-written code modules, available for free download to permit quick
and easy installation. Because these site software systems have existing admin panels, site administrators can control
all Userplane application features and functionality with ease within one simple location. By opening up its API to
these platforms, Userplane has embraced the open source community, making Userplane Webchat and Webmessenger add-ons
for virtually any website.
Further enhancing its product suite, Userplane recently released its long-awaited multi-user audio video feature.
This feature enables users to watch and hear multiple users in an online conference setting.
